Our Calling

Every member of our Church has come with a calling. To share the love and gospel of Jesus Christ, to reach out to a world that is broken and lost, to offer hope to the hopeless, and life to those that are lost.

The Bible tells us in Proverbs chapter one in the first half of verse seven, “The fear of the LORD is the beginning of knowledge:” This fear the Bible is talking about is what we now call respect. There is no respect for God in our schools today. We have told him to get out. We need God’s blessing in the education of our children. The original 1802 Ohio constitution currently states in Section 7, Article 1, “Religion, morality, and knowledge, however, being essential to good government, it shall be the duty of the general assembly to pass suitable laws, to protect every religious denomination in the peaceable enjoyment of its own mode of public worship, and to encourage schools and the means of instruction.” This religion, morality and knowledge the constitution is talking about was taught by the text book, which is the Bible. The first American Education law in 1650 put a requirement for public schools to be placed in each community for the purpose of a sound education based on God’s Word. Connecticut’s Illiteracy Law stated, “This legislature observing that notwithstanding our former orders made for the education of children…there are many persons unable to read the English tongue, and thereby incapable of reading the Holy Word of God or the good laws of this state… Did you notice the reason the state was concerned about illiteracy? They were concerned because the people could not read the Bible or the laws of the state. How is that for an educational standard?
